The goal was to stabilize a fast, productive hybrid while retaining the exotic terpene character and electric energy of pure island sativas. The result is a plant that thrives in full-sun, living-soil systems—showing balanced architecture, strong lateral growth, and heavy resin production early in flower. This line is well-suited for outdoor or greenhouse cultivation in subtropical and temperate environments where longer flowering plants can finish fully.
Genetic Background
Rock Reunion was created from a Zamal Reunion mother—a fast, trichome-rich selection from the Madagascar Haze line—and a Rockstar father, known for its compact structure and thick resin coverage.
Zamal Reunion, a modern refinement of the legendary Zamal island sativa, contributes high energy, aromatic complexity, and strong branching. Rockstar, originally developed in Canada, adds density, resistance, and a more manageable growth profile.
From an initial population of 110 plants, two males and sixteen females were selected for vigor, resin development, and aroma. Three main phenotypes were identified: Tall, bushy plants with excellent branching reaching over 2M. Medium plants with balanced internodal spacing and strong floral formation. Shorter phenotypes with early onset flowering and compact node spacing.
The final selections express the line’s hybrid stability—fast onset, strong stem structure, and a terpene mix of spice, lemon, and sweet floral tones.
Plant Characteristics
Rock Reunion exhibits medium-to-high stretch with dense nodal spacing and upright structure. The most vigorous phenotypes show long, flexible side branches and spear-like flowers covered in early trichomes. Leaf structures range between 3-, 5-, and 7-blade formations.
Plants grown in living soil develop thick stalks, improved vigor, and enhanced terpene expression. Under natural light, the leaves display deep green hues with occasional lime tones at the tips. The flowers are elongated, forming stacked calyx clusters with visible trichome coverage even in mid-bloom. Resin production begins early and remains consistent until harvest.
The overall structure combines the sativa form of Zamal Reunion with the denser calyx development inherited from Rockstar, creating a balanced, resinous hybrid that performs well under sun-grown or greenhouse conditions.
Flower & Aroma Profile
Fresh flowers emit a layered profile of aji chili, lemon, and black pepper, backed by subtle sweetness and floral spice. As they mature, the terpene profile evolves toward a more resin-forward character—spicy citrus with faint woody undertones.
Cured buds carry a complex aromatic mix of haze-like brightness and hashy depth. The smoke is clean and expansive, opening with pepper and lime before finishing on a sweet, floral note.
Visually, the flowers are compact but elongated, with fast-maturing pistils and abundant trichomes that shimmer under light.
